Amazing Maze

Posted by Picasa

While we were holidaying down south a few weeks ago we met up with 4 other families to try out this new tourist attraction. It was the most fantastic place to run off the energy of 12 kids. The challenge was to make it to each corner of the maze in sequence without using any of the shortcuts....I think the bigger people had more fun challenging each other on this one. Once we had conquered the challenge we stood high in the lookouts and just watched the kids run themselves silly.

Tickets Please

(Bronze statue of former lead singer Bon Scott in Fremantle)
Someone in our house was very excited to have secured tickets to see AC/DC in concert here in Perth next March. The concert sold out in 6 mins so it made the challenge of getting tickets much harder.
I am sure we will be listening to a little more of their music around here for the next 10 months.

Kindy Excursion

Today was a special day for our Kindy Boy who went on his first school excursion. We visited Cicerello's in Fremantle and saw lots of creatures up close that live in the ocean. They have the most amazing aquariums there.

We also got to do some beach combing ,playground playing and ice cream eating. We were certainly tired out after a day on the bus.

Mum Time

Today we went off to our MOPS group. This is a lovely couple of hours I spend catching up with other mums, listening to guest speakers ( today we had a nutritionist speak on nutrition for ourselves and our children) and completing a creative activity to take home. Today we made one of these..While us mummies are busy doing all of this the children are having a great time with carers in another building. Oh - we also eat lots of yummy food.

I also had a parcel arrive for me- an ebay purchase of this lovely bunch of vintage lace that I will now use in some of my WIP.

Anyone for Tea ?

Today at playgroup we held one of these for the Cancer Foundation. We combined it with a Teddy Bears Picnic for the children and enjoyed many tasty delights that were brought along.
For the "craft" activity we made these very cute teacups. ( sorry about the blurry photo) I think you can see how we made them.

1 Freckle, 1 Marshmallow, 1/2 Lifesaver and 1 Giant Jazzie or "TicToc" Biscuit all glued together with icing.
Go on enjoy a cuppa with someone.

I Remember when...

I remember when mum used to make this slice for afternoon tea when we came home from school. It is something that she continued to make and now something that I make that my guys love and most importantly is quick and easy to make.

Latest works

These are a few of the projects I have been working on at my sewing machine...using some of those pillowcases and vintage bits and pieces that I have collected along the way to make some aprons. I have even been adventurous and added some of my own stitching to these already beautiful pieces of times gone.

This is a really simple card that I made using this tutorial. I have made a couple more but forgot to photograph them before I gave them away.I love these little projects that help me to use up all the scraps from other projects.

After the Storm

The weather had begun to clear today so we thought what better to do than to go and see what had been washed up on the beaches. So we headed to Warnbro Beach and then down to Shoalwater which are know places for finding something interesting.
Sadly we found lots of rubbish washed ashore but also some things to bring home!....
Tomorrow if the sun shines I will take some pics of the things I am working on at the sewing machine.
Hey, take a listen to the music on the side and see what a clever husband I have.

Inside Play

This is the kind of day we had today...we also saw some hail. So today had to be an inside day which suited me fine after spending the night on the floor at school! That was actually an OK experience and Meg enjoyed having Mum there ( I think).
We had two visitors come to play so we busied ourselves with some of this...

and also some" table cubby" making and some more cookie making.

Winter is Finally Coming

The weather has finally changed here in our part of the world-heavy rain showers and strong winds. We shouldn't complain as we have not seen the rain for over 20 something days. The scene is set for Meg's Year five sleepover at school I am preparing to supervise tonight. Just hope they are all good at sleeping through can hope!

My First Blog

I have been prompted by someone dear to me to start this little blog in order to share some of the very ordinary goings on around our home. It will also include the a little of the "stuff" that keeps me busy when I should be doing other things. Those that share our home will also from time to time make an appearance-hopefully willingly!
So here goes...Wife of one husband, mother of three, part time Children's Pastor and a "sucker" for anything old that can be re-purposed.
